Recent Student Wins
You're doing everything right — and it's still not working.
Florida families tell us the same things over and over. If any of these hit home, you're in the right place.
You've become the enforcer
Every study reminder becomes a fight. You nag, they push back, nothing moves. You love your student — but this is destroying the relationship. And the score still isn't changing.
"I don't know what to do next"
SAT or ACT? When to test? What score is enough? How does Bright Futures actually work? Nobody at the school is giving you clear answers — and generic Google results just add more confusion.
The deadline is real and getting closer
Bright Futures scores must be earned by August 31 of graduation year. Every test date that passes without a result is money that doesn't come back. Senior year advice is usually too late.
They've already tried prep — it didn't work
You bought the books, maybe paid for a class or an app. The score barely moved. Not because your student can't do it — but because generic prep doesn't fix the behavior problem underneath.
The school counselor isn't driving this
Florida averages 434 students per counselor. Your student is not getting a personalized Bright Futures roadmap from anyone at school. If you don't build the plan, no one will.
"We can't afford to leave $25,000 on the table"
You already know the math. FAS is worth $25,600. FMS is worth $19,100. The difference between where your student is now and where they need to be is often just 50–100 SAT points. That gap is real money.
You don't need more information. You need a plan.
In 60 minutes, we'll map your student's exact gap, the realistic timeline, and exactly what it takes to close it. No guesswork. No more waiting.
How much is your student's
target score actually worth?
Move the slider. Pick a school. See the real number — Bright Futures plus everything else their score could unlock on top of it.

Bright Futures Score Thresholds — 2025–26
The difference between FMS and FAS is 140 points — and $6,500 per 50-point increment. That gap is reachable.
What the Bright Futures Conveyor Belt™ actually looks like.
This isn't tutoring. Every week has a purpose, every result is tracked, and nothing moves forward without accountability to back it up.

Score. Scholarship. Freedom.
Your student hits the target score, earns their Bright Futures award, and — because they applied with a competitive score — universities automatically consider them for institutional merit awards on top of it.
Jason Tucker — Founder & Head Instructor
"A debt-free degree isn't just a financial outcome. It's freedom to pursue whatever your student is called to do."
Jason Tucker is the founder of The Scholarship Coach and one of Florida's most trusted voices on Bright Futures scholarship strategy. He has tracked every format change the SAT and ACT have gone through — and more importantly, he understands the exact point where students' understanding breaks down and how to fix it.
The score is the mechanism. The scholarship is the financial outcome. The person your student becomes in the process — someone who can do hard things — that's what matters.
Jason's approach is relational, not transactional. Every student who comes through this program is seen as a whole person — not a test score to move. That changes how the coaching happens, and it shows in the results.
What Florida families ask us.
What SAT or ACT score do I need for Bright Futures?
FAS (100% tuition): 1330 SAT or 29 ACT + 3.5 weighted GPA. FMS (75% tuition): 1190 SAT or 24 ACT + 3.0 weighted GPA. Homeschool students have no GPA requirement — the score is the only academic lever.
Is my student a good fit for this program?
We work with Florida students in grades 10–12 who haven't yet reached their Bright Futures threshold. The best-fit student isn't failing. They're underperforming relative to who they actually are — and their family is ready to stop waiting.
How long does it take to reach the goal score?
It depends on the gap and the student's consistency. Grant hit FAS in 47 days. Jordan took 7 months. The equation works for every student — the only variable is how long it takes. We work until the goal is reached.
What grade should my student be in to start?
We work with students from sophomore year through senior year. The earlier the better — more runway means more test attempts and more time to close the gap. We strongly recommend starting sophomore year. That said, we've helped seniors close big gaps on tight timelines.
Should I wait until my student takes the SAT before booking a call?
No — and here's why: the sooner we talk, the sooner we build a plan that uses every remaining test date strategically. Waiting costs test dates. Those don't come back. Book the call now and we'll figure out the starting point together.
What's "merit stacking" and how does it work?
Bright Futures is guaranteed money — but at many schools it's just the floor. Florida universities automatically consider applicants for institutional merit scholarships based on their SAT/ACT score. A student who applies with a 1330 is automatically in the running for awards they wouldn't have qualified for at 1100. Use the calculator above to see what's available.
We have scholarships through the Step Up program. Can we use that to pay for your services?
Yes. We are an approved vendor with the Step Up for Students Program. If your student receives Step Up funding (available to homeschool and private school students with remaining funds), those funds can be used to pay for our services directly. Bring this up on your Game Plan Call and we'll walk you through the process.
Do you work with homeschool students?
Yes. Homeschool students are fully eligible for Bright Futures with no GPA minimum. The SAT or ACT score is essentially the only academic lever. We work with homeschool families regularly and are a Step Up approved vendor.
My student already tried SAT prep. Why would this be different?
Most prep programs deliver content. We address behavior — the consistency and accountability that turns a student who avoids practice into one who owns their future. Content is easy. Getting consistent action is the hard part. That's where we live.
What does the Game Plan Call cost, and how long is it?
Nothing. The Game Plan Call is free and runs 60 minutes. We map your student's gap, timeline, and whether the program is the right fit. If it's not the right fit, we'll tell you.
Your student is closer than you think. Don't wait another test cycle.
